AAJ Global Foundation is foraying into several areas of 'Giving' and supporting various missions around our focus areas
MIssion for human excellence
Mission for human excellence is acting as a catalyst to help tribal children in the hinterlands of West Bengal to transform their lives by educating their children, who lead a destitute life and struggle for a square meal. Working professionals devote their time and contribute funds to run after-hour schools and coaching and provide for food, medicine and clothing. The results have been encouraging and inspiring.
Kala sugandha mandal
This is a school for underprivileged children in Thane, Maharashtra and provides for teaching, breakfast, milk and lunch. Today, many of the free schools in India have dropouts; as the little children are forced to serve as care takers for their siblings, while their parents are out at work in the struggle for livelihood. They miss the most priceless opportunity - education. The team at Kala Sugandha provides facilities for infants while the older siblings enjoy the care and company of teachers and facilitators for their academic pursuit. The school has grown over the years.
Tagore and shakespeare Shelter
This is an unique experiment of taking destitute children and teaching them during the after hours on language skills in English and Bengali with focus on Literacy and Oracy. The LONG model of education comprising Literacy, Oracy, Numeracy and Graphicacy is applied for all round development so that they can become global citizens when they grow up. It is unbelievable to experience their transformation.
PARTNER HOOGHLY
This is the maiden support in the area of Person with disabilities(PWD). The children including many grown ups find a home in the center of Partner who work, sing and dance to teach us - "they too can". There is small factory like assembly line for making handmade goods and spices by people having motor and mental challenges; that are informally sold for making their living sustainable. AAJ Global Foundation is supporting and engaging with well wishers to make this a Center of Excellence for Persons with motor and mental disabilities.
Relearn foundation & digital literacy mission (DLM)
The DLM group has been working with the underprivileged children in the state of Jharkhand through teachers and facilitators who teach students to learn through activities and computers thereby bridging the digital divide in India between the 'haves' and 'have-nots'. They have a unique 1-3-9-2 model that is allowing the disproportionate growth of this initiative. One facilitator (1) works with three teachers (3) who in turn teach three students each thereby teaching (9) students. This Facilitator mentors another Facilitator ( 2) to help him or her replicate this model. More than 400 children have benefited from this unique growth model. DLM group is also providing jobs to poor people by making garbage bags using wasted news papers, thereby replacing plastic bags.
RAMAkrishna mission calcutta students' home
Inspired by the life and teachings of Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda, this 100 year plus institution continues to support students who are economically and socially challenged. The monks and faculties with their selfless service transform these young minds to men of courage and competence. The story so far has been heart-warming and inspiring. AAJ Global Foundation is proud to be associated with this august humane enterprise.
